Nathalia Fonseca, SLPD, CCC-SLP, TSSLD-BE, is a dedicated and highly qualified speech-language pathologist with extensive experience in the field. She earned her Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology (SLPD) from Nova Southern University, where her dissertation focused on “An Ecological Systems Theory Approach: Evaluation and Intervention of Latinx Clients in Speech-Language Pathology.” Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Fonseca completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Nova Southern University and obtained a Bilingual Extension at Queens College. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology from Marymount Manhattan College, where she minored in Hispanic Studies, Psychology, and Education.
As the President, Founder, and Lead Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist at Bilingual Speech-Language & Swallowing Therapy, Dr. Fonseca is committed to providing high-quality therapy services to both children and adults. She serves as the Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Services at Marymount Manhattan College, where she is also a full-time professor. Additionally, Dr. Fonseca is an adjunct professor at Nova Southern University.
Dr. Fonseca is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. She is also PROMPT Bridging Level II trained, equipped with the expertise to treat various speech disorders, including motor speech disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and cognitive impairments. Her passion for helping others extends beyond clinical practice, as she has volunteered as a clinical supervisor in Belize and served as a bilingual speech-language pathology international volunteer for Operation Smile in Bolivia.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, Dr. Fonseca provides comprehensive speech therapy services tailored to the unique needs of everyone. She is licensed in the states of New York and California and holds a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disorders (TSSLD) certification in New York. Furthermore, she is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), ensuring she can respond effectively to emergencies during therapy sessions.
At Bilingual Speech-Language & Swallowing Therapy, Dr. Fonseca prioritizes building positive relationships with patients, family members, and caregivers to deliver personalized and effective care. Her dedication to improving communication skills and enhancing the quality of life for her clients is evident in her holistic approach to therapy.
